Moxibustion (AKA moxa) is one of the main sources of healing in TCM. In fact, the character used for Traditional Chinese Medicine 針灸 (pronounced ZhenJiu) literally translates to acupuncture and moxibustion. Moxibustion occurs when dried mugwort is smoldered on or near the skin, or even attached to the ends of acupuncture needles. This warming energy stimulates blood flow and healing along the meridians and regions in the body.
Moxa is commonly used to treat:
Chronic pain
Uterine fibroids
IBS/Ulcerative colitis/Constipation
Post-stroke recovery
Turning breech babies
